| DESIGN |
 |
Zirkon helps customers integrate and develop detailed
ideas or design briefs, offering valuable knowledge and expertise
at every stage. This enables us to develop an end product that is
evolved by experts and tailored to the customer’s exact requirements.
This, combined with the excellent working relationships that we
build with our customers, ultimately provides them with value-added
solutions.
Our experts combine both traditional skills and vision with the
latest CAD technology to develop new concepts, turn original early
stage ideas into manufacturable designs, develop workable prototypes,
and evolve and improve existing products. We work in partnership
with external experts on items such as castings, metalwork, and
plastic enclosures, which brings even more knowledge to the project.
Better engineered products mean increased productivity,
greater efficiency and reliability, and a faster turnaround and
lower unit costs for our customers.
There are various different methods that can be
used in order to address electronics design. Zirkon’s expertise
in design covers:
 |
| DEVELOPMENT |
 |
Zirkon’s development team, working along
side the customer, has the expertise and capability to turn design
concept into prototypes and test samples prior to volume manufacture.
These are then fully tested in order to ensure that the product
will achieve its function and fulfil the customer’s specific
requirements.
This provides us with the opportunity to highlight
any areas where the product requires further development, so that
it can be re-addressed by the design and development team. It also
ensures that variability is minimised when manufacturing.
This means that the final product is fully evolved
and designed to give the best possible results.
Our development processes are:
| - |
Prototyping
- We can build to process low volume batches |
| |
|
| - |
Design for manufacture
- Our in-house design rules and procedures ensure manufacturability |
| |
|
| - |
Product validation
- (EMC, Temperature, Vibration etc) Using in-house facilities
and outsourced services we can offer a full validation of a
product including RF approval and CE marking |
 |
| MANUFACTURE |
 |
At Zirkon, we are committed to continuous investment
in technology to provide our customers with solutions that have
been produced using the latest hardware and techniques.
The result is high speed, intelligent production
and reliable manufacturing processes, giving customers the confidence
that their products are being produced to the highest possible specification,
whether prototype or large batch.
We are a leading PCB (printed circuit board) assembler
providing both through-hole and the latest surface-mount facilities.
In addition to PCBs, we offer hand assembly, strip, crimp for harness
assembly and complete unit build capabilities to ensure that the
highest quality and most appropriate manufacturing combination is
used.
We have the facility to fit in excess of 70,000
board components an hour, including BGA, QFP (fine pitch of just
0.013") and 0201 size components.

| TEST |
 |
At Zirkon we offer computer controlled testing
facilities to ensure that the final product specification meets
with our customers’ requirements. We are dedicated to product
quality throughout the whole manufacturing process. Where required,
every manufactured unit is tested to a pre-agreed specification
prior to release.
Our test capabilities are:
